Project Features/Highlights

The Mansion on Forsyth Park is a four-story lodging structure. The original Mansion building, built in 1888, is an attractive two-story brick and terra cotta structure containing approximately 18,000 square feet. Ceiling heights on both floors are between 14 and 15 feet and the building contains a substantial amount of original oak millwork, mahogany and teak paneling and molding. The building also features hardwood floors, a beautiful grand staircase and airy spacious rooms well suited for conversion to a fine dining restaurant. The original structure is incorporated into the design and layout of the new hotel building, which replicates the historical architecture and emphasizes historic Savannah . A heavily landscaped 136-space surface parking lot, surrounded by a brick and picket fence of historic character, was constructed on the adjoining parcel to service the hotel and restaurant.

The historic mansion was completely renovated and restored for a fine dining restaurant and lounge. The restaurant concept is a blend of Southern Casual and European elegance with an extensive wine selection. The hotel's restaurant is positioned as the best fine dining in Savannah and will develop a strong local clientele. Its local image for fine dining will be critical to referrals driving hotel room and banquet sales

The 150-seat fine dining restaurant is rated at least four diamond. The menu offers a wide range of choices and daily specials including dishes with a southern flair. The wine list is of sufficient depth and variety to earn at least a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and offer a broad selection of wines by the glass at various price points. The restaurant is positioned at the very top of the Savannah dining scene. The Mansion on Forsyth Park has a Chef with an established reputation, especially in the southeast. Moreover, the hotel and its fine dining restaurant will be marketed effectively to create a following in key markets including the local Savannah and Hilton Head, S.C. community, located just 45 minutes from the property.

The Mansion on Forsyth Park has meeting and ballroom space totaling approximately 7,000 square feet. A ballroom of 4,000 square feet is divisible into two 2,000-square-foot rooms. Two fixed walled meeting rooms of approximately 750 square feet each, a 300-square-foot boardroom and an additional pre-function area serve the hotel. The hotel also has several private dining rooms on the second level of the restaurant building that serve as additional meeting space, as necessary, creating approximately 3,000 additional square feet.
