Project was initially bid at 25% over budget by others. PCL and its design partner, Gruen Associates, rescoped and redesigned the project to meet the owner's absolute $44 million budget cap.

CSU Channel Islands commissioned world-renowned architect Sir Norman Foster to complete the front-end design of this new library. The project includes 140,000 GSF of new construction, demolition and renovation. Elements within this glass enclosed structure include new bookstack space, reading rooms, study areas, computer labs, administration space, café, and conference rooms. This facility will be the focal point of the CSU System's newest campus.
